Active and passive cooling for high-power charging

High-power charging is used in fast-charging systems for electromobility applications. It enables the lithium-ion battery of an electric vehicle to be charged up to a large extent in just a few minutes.

However, without effective charger cable cooling, a large amount of waste heat is generated. technotrans offers a wide range of concepts specifically for this application: These include charging cable cooling modules with active as well as passive cooling. Being impressively compact in design, they are easy to integrate in the charging station.

The passive version cools the cooling medium against the ambient air and has a particularly high level of energy efficiency. For the active cooling modules, a compressor-based refrigeration unit provides the required cooling. The desired temperature is realised by the permanent, customisable circulation of the cooling medium. In addition, it is possible to cool several charging stations simultaneously.
