termotek gives go-ahead for expansion in Baden-Baden

Cooling specialist signs purchase agreement for new location / Capacity to be doubled in Wörnersangewand Industry Park / Company aims to maintain consistent growth trajectory

termotek GmbH is expanding its capacity at the Baden-Baden location. With the signing of the land purchase contract on Thursday, the specialist for compact liquid cooling systems gave the go-ahead for its further expansion. The company is to relocate from the existing Rollfeld site to a piece of land covering 13,000 square metres in the Wörnersangewand Industry Park. termotek aims to maintain its consistent growth trajectory from the new premises. The new production facility is scheduled to come on stream at the end of 2018.

“In signing the purchase agreement we are confirming Baden-Baden as our future home,” stressed termotek Managing Director Peter Hirsch. “Our employees are a key part of our commitment to this location.” He attributed the decision to site the new production plant close to the company’s existing head office to the workforce’s depth of expertise in termotek’s core skill of liquid cooling systems.

Production capacity stretched to limits after steady growth
Until now, termotek has conducted its production operations from a rented building at the Rollfeld site. Steady growth has recently stretched the manufacturer to the very limits of its capacity. To make the new production operations future-proof, the company decided to relocate to a new site. Through the purchase agreement, termotek has now secured a piece of land covering 13,000 square metres in the Wörnersangewand Industry Park. This will double its production capacities. In the first phase the building is to house more than 5,000 square metres of floor space for production and administration functions.

This expansion is to be mirrored by the development in revenue. After the takeover of termotek by the technotrans Group, a cooling specialist with its head office in North Rhine-Westphalia, business developed very rapidly. termotek’s revenue rose from nine million euros in 2011 to 19 million euros at the end of 2016 – a doubling of income within the space of five years. Over the same period, the workforce grew from just over 50 to around 100 employees. By the time the new production facility opens, termotek aims to expand the workforce to around 115.

Ideal basis for competing on a global scale
“In terms of size, infrastructure and scope for expansion, the new location offers an ideal basis for the company to hold its own economically over the long term in the globalised market for cooling systems and for building on success,” added Hirsch. According to current plans, termotek aims to start production at the new location at the end of 2018. As well as steadily expanding its portfolio business, the company aims to keep branching out into new applications.

After its establishment in 1998, termotek moved to its present Rollfeld location in 2007.
