technotrans registers rising demand for battery cooling systems

Big response at transport technology lead show InnoTrans / Spotlight on cooling solutions for mobile and stationary systems / Production starts and new projects confirmed

Berlin/Sassenberg, September 24, 2018 – Electric mobility is gaining increasing traction – above all for local public transport. technotrans SE is benefiting from this sustained trend as a leading supplier of battery cooling systems for rail vehicles: at this year’s InnoTrans transport technology show in Berlin (September 18 to 21), the company registered a further rise in interest among trade visitors compared with one year earlier. The number of show contacts and enquiries easily exceeded expectations.

“At the InnoTrans we received a large number of very promising project enquiries as well as confirmations of production starts,” remarked Dirk Engel, Chief Executive Officer of technotrans SE. This big response highlighted how the company meets precisely the needs of market operators with its solutions for electrified mobility that involve battery cooling for locomotives, trams and local rail vehicles. technotrans is promoting the expansion of electric mobility and identifies huge growth potential in this business segment.

“We are among the first to move into this highly promising market segment and positioned ourselves early on,” stressed Engel. technotrans enjoys two competitive advantages in a market that is still very much in its infancy: on the one hand the company offers customer-specific, rapidly available cooling systems. On the other hand technotrans can provide the references to confirm the technology’s practical viability.

From a hydrogen-powered train in Lower Saxony to an electric hybrid local rail vehicle operating on Austria’s network, there are now a large number of reference projects undergoing practical testing. With the climate-friendly alternatives to conventional diesel trains starting to operate regular scheduled services, products from a number of manufacturers are reaching production maturity. “The next move is up to our customers. We are ready for production,” declared the CEO of technotrans SE.

Lively interest in technotrans solutions
In Berlin, technotrans presented the cooling solutions to a trade audience on a dedicated stand. The company also exhibited its range of technology as featured on new products of a number of renowned customers at the InnoTrans show. These included manufacturers of both batteries and rail vehicles such as trams and local rail vehicles.

Nor was interest limited to cooling systems for rail transport technology: reflecting the spread of multimodal transport, there was also a very good response to bus charging stations. Alongside mobile devices, the Sassenberg liquid technology specialist in addition presented stationary cooling systems for charging stations, inverters and battery containers.
