Systematic Competence

technotrans publishes specialized information

technotrans will issue some valuable guides which bring together a plethora of information that will help printers of all sizes to reduce their costs and run fit and lean. Drawing on over 30 years’ experience in supplying press ancillaries, technotrans will hand out data-rich information that gives practical guidance to cost-saving changes that can be easily implemented.

They are being prepared now and will be available from the start of drupa 2012. The company will only supply the information in printed form. “It would be ironic if we were to supply these products in digital form or as pdf files. It is about printing industry competence and will be distributed in ink on paper form only,” says Peter Böcker, Sales Director of technotrans AG.

The brochures will be available at the drupa booth of technotrans AG: Hall 2, Stand B46 where the expert technotrans staff will be on hand to discuss issues or offer advice. However, for those who cannot get to Dusseldorf there will be the opportunity to order online at www.technotrans.de or by telephoning the local technotrans’ sales agency.

“Because of the expertise of our specialists we have a close relationship with both our OEMs, the printing press manufacturers, and with the management of the end users, the printing companies themselves”, explains Peter Böcker. “Many of the solutions that modern print shops have adopted to enable them to run more economically, as well as more ecologically, were developed in co-operation with these partners. Our customers stipulated their requirements and technotrans has responded with solutions.”

Peter Böcker cites as examples the growth in dampening solution filtration, automation in areas like ink supply and also the introduction of central water cooling with its potential for heat recovery and re-use.

“Apart from the units and systems that are already available, technotrans has a knowledge resource relating to the relevance of actions relating to specific processes”, says Peter Böcker. “The best example of this is the requirement for perfectly conditioned dampening solution. technotrans understands the pros and cons of conductivity manipulation and quantity-based dosing of additives.”

It is this type of expert advice and know-how that technotrans is incorporating into its library of specialist information. In addition to the areas already mentioned, the guides will also include specialist information on the use of spray dampening units in newspaper printing, energy efficiency, water processing for the offset process and more. In addition to the technical papers the in-house marketing department has also contributed an insightful brochure called “Promotional measures for print shops”.
