Apple Colour in Bristol has returned to reverse osmosis after a short period without it. The company has installed an alpha.r3 system from technotrans to run alongside its new Speedmaster XL 75-5+LX.

“Water is an important element of the dampening solution and therefore critical to the printing process,” says Mark Bracey, production director. “For a while we ran without it but when we moved premises and bought this new press we decided to reinvest in RO. It’s about control. We have Inpress Control to measure and adjust colour and register but press ancillaries also enhance the standardisation of press operations. They are important in the quest for high quality and productive results. Technotrans’ products and support are very good.”

Control of the printing process also reduces waste which is important to a company which is ISO 14001 and FSC Chain of Custody certified and which has a defined policy of running to optimum environmental standards.   Apple Litho has been in business for over 30 years and its 22 staff work hard to deliver the high quality results its customers expect.
