• Chamber of Industry and Commerce singles out language service provider’s resilience and innovativeness
• Strategic focus on process reliability and quality in the age of AI translations
• Professional language services are crucial for international value creation and competitiveness
Quarter of a century of language expertise for global markets: gds Sprachenwelt GmbH, a company in the technotrans group, looks back on 25 years’ success as a specialist service provider for technical documentation and technical translations. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) North Rhine-Westphalia acknowledged this expertise by presenting a honorary certificate to the company at its Sassenberg location. In the future, the company will increasingly be adopting a symbiosis of technological innovation through artificial intelligence (AI) and the necessary reliable validation of liability-related content in technically sophisticated sectors.
“25 years of gds Sprachenwelt stands for change rather than standing still and substance over hype,” says Michaela Gorisch, Managing Director of gds Sprachenwelt GmbH. “The translation market is growing quickly through AI, yet that’s precisely why quality you can trust is becoming the key determining factor. Translation is becoming a critical infrastructure for multinational industrial enterprises.”
Inna Gabler from the IHK North Rhine-Westphalia likewise applauded this development with the presentation of the honorary certificate at the company's headquarters in Sassenberg in late January. She stressed the importance of the company that acts as a link in international collaboration. What began in 1995 as a sole proprietorship before becoming a limited company in December 2000, is now a specialized service provider that manages around 4,200 translation projects a year. In 2012, gds Sprachenwelt joined the technotrans Group.
Liability protection in the AI era
Against the backdrop of the digital transformation, gds Sprachenwelt is embracing a symbiosis of human technical expertise and machine efficiency. “AI translations optimize based on probabilities, not on responsibility," is how Gorisch explains the strategy. “Wherever content is safety-critical, liability-related, or brand-defining, such as in mechanical engineering or medical technology, the technical validation by experts is indispensable.”
Michael Finger (CEO) and Natascha Sander (CFO) from technotrans SE, who attended the certificate presentation ceremony, also highlighted this strategic orientation. The attendance of the CEO emphasizes the importance of language services within the Group. gds Sprachenwelt acts as a key component in ensuring the export capability and international documentation for customers from the technology sector.
From start-up to established partner
The company has consistently become more professional since its foundation. Back in 2001, just before the company was entered in the commercial register, gds Sprachenwelt rolled out software-assisted translation processes. Today, a core team at the Sassenberg location combines personal project management with a global network of several thousand specialized translators. This model enables high scalability coupled with compliance with strict quality standards – a fundamental factor for technical buyers and decision-makers in the industry.
With the receipt of the IHK certificate and a look at the current financial year 2026, gds Sprachenwelt is staying firmly on track: Integrating new technologies to increase efficiency while ensuring process reliability and compliance.
