InnoTrans 2016: technotrans presents new solutions for battery cooling systems

• Cooling solutions for mobile and stationary lithium-ion batteries • Battery coolers as certified standard units and customised solutions • Cooling system for converters and charging stations

technotrans AG will present cooling solutions for the efficient electromobility of buses and trains at this year's InnoTrans trade fair on 20-23 September in Berlin. The main focus will be placed on mobile and stationary cooling solutions. The fluid and cooling technology specialist can be found in hall 14.1 at stand 202 at the InnoTrans trade fair.

"We have identified electromobility as the dominating method of mobility of the future and we offer our customers the corresponding battery cooling systems," says Christian Walczyk, head of the sales team for industrial system solutions of technotrans. They include customised cooling and temperature control systems for mobile energy storage systems, such as lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors or ultracapacitors, as well as stationary cooling systems for battery charging stations, converters and battery containers.

After the success in 2014, technotrans will once again be present at the InnoTrans trade fair, this time with its expanded range of modular zeta.line cooling units. Apart from the company's own exhibits, numerous systems made by technotrans can also be found at the stands of other well-known exhibitors. "zeta.line has proven itself in the field and is now a well-established product on the market," explains Christian Walczyk. "We now offer our battery coolers as certified standard units – also with extensive railway certifications. They are compact and lightweight, can be customised for numerous areas of application and cover many different performance categories."

Efficient cooling in difficult situations
zeta.line ensures ideal operating conditions regardless of the climatic conditions and cooling demand. The systems made by technotrans guarantee the process reliability of the temperature control system in a temperature range between -25°C and +55°C with constant and stable temperature control of the energy storage systems. Under favourable external conditions, the systems use the ambient air for passive, energy-saving cooling. In other cases, the batteries are actively cooled by way of a compressor. In combination with state-of-the-art communication and diagnostic systems, e.g. CAN bus, zeta.line becomes a fully integral part of the overall energy storage and traction system.

Apart from mobile units, technotrans AG will also present stationary cooling systems for charging stations, converters and battery containers. They also enable compact integration into existent housing designs and are usually based on cooling concepts with fine-tuned water-glycol circuits. The sound-optimised versions reach a cooling capacity up to 900 kW and are installed all around the world by technotrans service teams.

You can find technotrans at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin on 20-23 September in hall 14.1 at stand 202. Appointments for meetings can be arranged by phone prior to the trade fair on +49 (0) 25 83-30 1 – 1650.
