gds AG acquires Sprachenwelt GmbH

technotrans subsidiary broadens its range of services

gds AG, a member company of the technotrans Group, is acquiring a majority interest in Sprachenwelt GmbH effective September 1, 2012.. The latter company, based in Hünfeld (Hesse), specialises in translations of technical, business and legal texts and numbers major industrial clients such as Alstom, Mühlbauer and Siemens among its business partners. Through this takeover, gds AG is broadening its range of Technical Documentation services to include a fundamental component of the area in which it is active.

“Germany is the world's foremost export nation, so translations are obviously a key aspect of the technical documentation that we compile for our customers. That makes these two companies a perfect fit,” explained gds AG Director Ulrich Pelster. “And by integrating expert translations into our workflows, we will be able to boost efficiency and offer our customers a wide variety of benefits.” For example, it will be possible to generate translation orders directly from the docuglobe editing system.

Sprachenwelt GmbH was founded in 1995 and currently has 15 employees, through whose efforts the company will achieve revenue of around € 2 million in 2012. The company also has a branch in Switzerland, which is to be further expanded hand in hand with gds' own activities in the Swiss market.

“gds AG is an important building block in our growth strategy,” commented Henry Brickenkamp, Spokesman of the Board of Management of technotrans AG. “That is why we are deliberately seeking to expand this area of services.”
