Efficient and safe printing with highly reactive UV inks with technotrans solutions

  • Strong focus on cooling solutions for UV dryers
  • Secure and long-lasting ink supply
  • "Partner in Print" at the drupa 2016 trade fair

technotrans AG presents special solutions for applications with highly reactive UV inks at the drupa 2016 trade fair in Düsseldorf. The reliable and efficient cooling of the HUV or UV-LED dryers guarantees high process reliability and optimum performance and a long service life of the machines. technotrans will also present an ink supply system with a patented piston sealing system for highly reactive UV inks. Visitors can learn more at Stand A04 in Hall 2.

"Printing with highly reactive UV inks is a challenging task, even for the suppliers of peripheral equipment like us," explains Eike Moes, Director of Dampening Solution Technology of technotrans AG from Sassenberg, Germany. "The cooling systems for the UV dryers and, in particular for the new HUV and UV-LED dryers, must be customised for the machine and technology that is applied." Based on its long-standing know-how, technotrans has used established systems as the foundation for the development of special chillers for printing systems using highly reactive UV inks.

As a result, the specialist for cooling and fluid applications can offer its customers bespoke solutions for conventional UV systems up to the new LED dryers. The portfolio includes open or closed systems, with one or more circuits, or with integrated water softening units, including conductivity control. "Numerous OEMs rely on our cooling units for UV printing applications," says Eike Moes. "In the run-up to the drupa 2016 trade fair, we have further optimised the systems and we will also present special solutions based on our beta.line, which are bound to set new technological standards."

Efficient ink supply for UV printing applications
At the trade fair, technotrans will also present its ink supply systems that are suitable for processing conventional and highly reactive UV inks. "Contrary to conventional offset inks, UV ink is rather sensitive in terms of pressure load, shearing force, and heat, leading to polymerisation," explains Alois Scharf, Head of the Ink & Fluid Technology Business Unit of technotrans AG. technotrans solves the problem of ink hardening, which would lead to a high level of wear of the pumps, valves and seals, by using a patented piston sealing system, special control system, and ink agitators of the ink.mate series. Using the special ink.supply UV system enables users to increase the efficiency and availability of their systems. In addition, the automatic ink supply prevents any direct contact with the UV ink, which could cause skin reactions if it had to be scooped out of the ink cans by hand.

With its solutions for different cooling and fluid technology areas, technotrans presents itself as a comprehensive "Partner in Print" at the drupa 2016 trade fair. Visitors can find technotrans AG in Hall 2 at Stand A04.
