Career kick-off in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic: technotrans takes twelve new apprentices on board

Quality as a top priority for the apprenticeships / Apprentices give insights into their work on social media / Recruitment for 2021 already on its way

Attractive opportunities for young professionals during this time of crisis: Once again, technotrans SE has filled all of the job vacancies for apprentices on 1 August. Twelve recruits will jump-start their career at the Sassenberg headquarters. As one of the largest companies in the region, technotrans SE currently has a total of 48 apprentices. The fluid technology specialist offers its young talents a multifaceted training scheme and interesting projects to work on.

There has been a major skills shortage in many German industries and regions in recent years. The current pandemic exacerbates the situation even further: Closed schools and cancelled trade fairs make it difficult for young job seekers and companies to get in touch with one another. Despite this difficult situation, technotrans welcomes twelve new apprentices. The company from Sassenberg sets great store by entrepreneurial foresight. "We are confident that we will survive this time of difficulty, which is being caused by the global pandemic. This is why we continue to invest in a highly qualified and committed workforce," says Tina Wegmeth, human resources officer and head of training at technotrans. In view of the special circumstances, this year's "outfitting" day on which the new apprentices, accompanied by their parents, slip into their new workwear for the first time had to be cancelled. Instead, the current apprentices mailed the clothes to their new colleagues and assisted them via numerous digital channels.

technotrans provides training in 16 different technical and commercial fields. The twelve new recruits will start their career as mechatronics technicians, technical product designers, industrial business management assistants and IT specialists for application development. However, not only the fields of training at technotrans are highly versatile; the tasks themselves are multifaceted as well. For example, the apprentices work together on challenging projects and volunteer for various campaigns. The specialists of tomorrow report on their working lives on Instagram and on the technotrans apprentices' blog. The apprentices are responsible for maintaining and providing content for these social media channels.

Extensive support and excellent preparation
The quality of the apprenticeships has top priority for technotrans. The aim is to retain the young talents' loyalty to the company for the long term. This is why technotrans offers extensive support and mentoring by experienced employees in addition to on-site training and revision for exams. Thanks to numerous international subsidiaries, the apprentices can also spend some time abroad which is always a highlight. "We are proud to say that our retention rate is nearly 100%," says Wegmeth.
