technotrans certified by BG ETEM technotrans AG, a specialist machine manufacturer for fluid technologies, has received a special certification from the BG ETEM [German Accident Prevention and Insurance Association for Energy, Textile, Electrical and Media Products].

'beta.c eco' — its energy-minimised combination device for dampening solution circulation and ink unit temperature control during sheet-fed offset printing — has been confirmed as being exceptionally environmentally-friendly thanks to its high level of energy efficiency. "A reduced energy demand goes hand in hand with a smaller environmental impact," explains Albrecht Glöckle. "This doesn't only benefit the employees directly in the workplace but also ensures that the industry as a whole has a reduced environmental impact in the long-term."

In the course of a complex restructuring of the German accident prevention and insurance associations, which saw over 30 organisations reduced to nine in total, BG ETEM was formed from the former BG Druck und Papierverarbeitung [Accident Prevention and Insurance Association for the Printing and Paper Processing Industry]. The head of its specialist committee on printing and paper processing, Albrecht Glöckle, explains why the work of this association has been expanded somewhat: ”Naturally the original sectors still remain, but a wider view of things has been added. “Aspects that are not specific, but instead of interest to the industry in general.”

During the visit at technotrans AG, a whole range of solutions were identified — across the entire system supplier product range — which contribute to a greater or lesser extent to relieving the burden on the environment or directly improving the safety of employees in the workplace. "We currently have a whole range of filtration and recycling devices for chemical processes," explains Eike Moes, acting head of the technotrans 'Temperature Control' business unit. "This not only reduces the amount of waste from companies but also offers users the opportunity to significantly reduce the costs of consumables that need to be purchased."
