• Group-wide training programme covers 25 occupational fields
• Successful recruitment through school partnerships and the new Instagram careers channel
• Application process for 2027 now under way
Managing their own projects, working together on technical systems and quickly taking on responsibility: 34 young people are embarking on their careers at technotrans as the 2026 training year begins. At the thermal management specialist’s headquarters in Sassenberg, 18 future professionals are starting an apprenticeship or dual study programme. Further recruits are joining the sites in Meinerzhagen, Bad Doberan and Baden-Baden, where the training year does not begin until 1 September in some cases. A total of 112 apprentices and dual students are currently learning and working across the Group.
The new recruits can look forward to hands-on assignments that give them plenty of scope to show initiative. One special feature of this year’s intake is that two of the dual students have progressed from within the company. They have either already completed their apprenticeship at technotrans or are beginning their degree alongside it. “We support our apprentices in gaining further academic qualifications, either directly after completing their traditional apprenticeship or alongside it,” says Anna-Lena Offers, Head of Vocational Training at technotrans. The Group’s training portfolio covers 25 different occupational fields, including five dual study programmes.
Practical insights directly in the classroom
To attract the next generation of employees successfully, technotrans seeks direct contact with school pupils. This includes partnerships with schools, application training in the classroom and visits by physics classes to the training workshop in Sassenberg.
“Personal interaction plays a central role for us. Many of the young people who apply to technotrans have previously completed an internship with us or know the company from a careers fair,” explains Offers. In addition to the existing TikTok and Instagram channels managed by the apprentices, the company now also uses its official Instagram careers profile to provide insights into what future employees can expect.
Looking ahead to the 2027 training year
Alongside the start of the current training year, the application process for 2027 is already under way. Interested candidates can now apply to begin their careers with technotrans next year. In addition to widely established commercial, technical and administrative occupations, technotrans also offers training in less well-known professions. “The role of refrigeration mechatronics technician is still largely overlooked by many young people and remains relatively unfamiliar,” explains Offers. To raise the profile of this career path, technotrans will offer both an apprenticeship and a dual study programme in refrigeration engineering for 2027.
