Strong unit: technotrans completes merger and renaming of its companies

  • Establishment of umbrella brand technotrans
  • Consolidation of top knowledge and increasing efficiency for a strengthened standing in the major markets
  • Systematic expansion of the product and technology portfolio

It is a key milestone for the implementation of the group’s Future Ready 2025 strategy: The one-brand strategy was successfully implemented. All the technotrans SE companies, with the exception of gds GmbH which specialises in technical documentation, now operate under the name of the technotrans umbrella brand. In addition, the technology supplier has also completed the merger of technotrans SE and KLH Kältetechnik GmbH as well as technotrans solutions GmbH and Reisner Cooling Solutions GmbH. From now on termotek GmbH will be operating under the name of technotrans systems GmbH. The current product and technology portfolio will be maintained and is to be systematically expanded further in future. The full organisational integration of the individual companies into the group is to be completed in the first half of 2022. These measures will strengthen the group’s position as a leading innovator in the field of thermal management. The group is consolidating its knowledge and skills to enable it to operate even more efficiently, flexibly and effectively in its major markets.

“With the transition from a group of several affiliated companies to a strong brand, we are fulfilling one of the most important steps in the history of technotrans as a company. The centralised control of the functional areas makes it possible for us utilise group-wide synergy effects for our customers,” says Michael Finger, spokesman of the board of technotrans SE. As a consequence of the transformation process, the group is consolidating its market and industry expertise as well as its application know-how in the field of thermal management. With the uniform image as a strong, future-proof brand, technotrans is aiming to become an even stronger player on a national and international level.

Under the technotrans umbrella brand, the sites will be operating under the following names from now on: Sassenberg and Bad Doberan (formerly KLH Kältetechnik GmbH) are technotrans SE. The Meinerzhagen (formerly gwk Wärme Kältetechnik mbH) and Holzwickede (formerly Reisner Cooling Solutions GmbH) sites have been merged under the name technotrans solutions GmbH. The Baden-Baden (formerly termotek GmbH) site now operates under the name technotrans systems GmbH. The group can therefore offer a product portfolio of highly efficient cooling and temperature control systems in a wide temperature range from -80°C to +400°C for a wide range of different applications in its major markets. The existing equipment and technology portfolio will be maintained and further expanded following the mergers. Thanks to close cooperation, the new companies will offer their customers an even broader service spectrum.

Uniform image has a positive impact both internally and externally

Employee onboarding is a high priority within the framework of the mergers and name changes. “It is important to us to create a new team spirit and to make the sense of belonging to a strong community tangible in our daily work,” stresses Michael Finger. “Our employees not only play a key role in the group’s success, they are also playing a committed and motivated role in the implementation of the mergers.” In this connection, full organisational integration is a continuous process which is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

The creation of the technotrans umbrella brand has also met with approval from the outside world, says member of the technotrans Board of Management Peter Hirsch: “The feedback from the markets with respect to the transformation initiative and the resultant benefits is consistently positive. Our technology plays an essential role in our customer’s applications and is a prerequisite for numerous industrial processes. With the help of the new organisational structure, we are able to fulfil this role in an even more efficient, effective and focused manner. Our customers are already feeling the benefits.”

The merger of the individual companies of the group is one of the key measures within the “Future Ready 2025” strategy, the first phase of which is to be completed this year with a focus on the stability and profitability of the group. In phase 2 starting in 2023, which is to focus on profitable growth and investment, technotrans aims, among other things, to utilise group-wide synergy effects to focus even more strongly on its key markets and actively drive forward new technologies.
