technotrans will introduce a whole series of innovations at this year's IfraExpo in Amsterdam. In addition to the tried-and-tested automatic ink supply concepts, the offset printing system provider with its headquarters in Sassenberg in Northwest Germany presents as many as three other highlights from other areas connected with newspaper printing.
With the new microspray.compact spray dampening system, technotrans offers a solution that is much less susceptible to clogging due to its particularly high operating pressure. The new valves also reduce the fault probability. As with previous generations of technotrans spray dampening systems, this series also stands out for its small space requirement and enables maintenance and cleaning without tools.
The experts from Sassenberg are also opening up a product line that is completely new to the company by developing and manufacturing cleaning systems. In addition to the blanket-based contex.c rubber blanket washing system which has already been presented at the previous IPEX in April 2006, technotrans is now expanding this range with the brush cleaning system contex.b that is presented for the first time at the IfraExpo.
Due to its newly developed technology for evacuating dirt out of the printing unit, the contex.b is considered to be a particularly low-maintenance unit. In connection with the ecoclean.line washing agent recycling unit offered for many years by technotrans, it provides a convincing and complete washing system for both newspaper and web offset printing. This combination saves resources and cuts costs.
The beta.f dampening solution fine filtration unit is another useful addition that reduces operating costs. This accessory unit can not only be installed directly in the bypass line to the dampening solution circulator without much effort, retrofitting to existing systems is also possible at any time. Particularly in view of a constantly clean dampening solution circuit in the machines, a considerably longer dampening solution service life and a clear reduction in filter material consumption, the benefits realised by integrating the beta.f unit are rather convincing. Especially in newspaper printing presses, small and large dirt particles are causing problems with the spray dampening units which become blocked and necessitate that the rotary press be stopped. In tests on a newspaper printing press in Southern Germany, this effect was reduced considerably by using the beta.f fine filtration unit. Maintenance intervals are extended considerably, and tiresome cleaning work is cut to a fraction of the previous effort.
However, automatic ink supply remains a focus of this system provider at the IfraExpo. Well-proven concepts and convincing peripheral units from the technotrans center of competence in Gersthofen near Augsburg are presented at this show. Powerful pumps, intelligent solutions relating to ink containers, pipework, filling units and level monitoring as well as fully developed software solutions are combined individually to produce turnkey solutions in the printing companies.
